Having only been through one other escape room (an one-room ‘containment center’ with a zombie chained to the wall who got more and more roaming room as the challenge went on), I didn’t know quite what to expect from Hourglass Escape’s latest adventure — but I’m happy to report that it was one of the best times I’ve ever had in my entire life!

The Official Evil Dead 2™ Escape Room starts with an introductory video setting up your mission: a cabin has materialized within the walls of the Archaeological Society, and has called the members of G.R.O.O.V.Y – the “Gnostic Research of the Occult, Omens, Vampires, and Yetis” (that’s you!) together to help banish the Evil Dead contained within. And if you don’t do that within the allotted time, the cabin will be sucked into a time-space vortex and you’ll be trapped FOREVER!

My horror-loving squad and I entered the room and immediately started ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’ over the attention to detail: this cabin looks like it teleported DIRECTLY out of Sam Raimi’s film! It has killer props, an excellent “Ash” Williams, and authentic Deadite laughter throughout — plus, this isn’t just one room! It’s a complete experience that guides you through a full set.

I’m not gonna lie, this escape room is TOUGH. We were two people short and that hindered us for sure; we had to ask for some hints to move things along, so you should definitely gather up the recommended 6 people to get through this challenge.

Since I don’t want to spoil anything for you and I can’t help you cheat, I’m not able to tell you much more about it. But you should totally DO THIS THING. It’s super fun! Totally, totally worth the $$. Book your tix now!! It’s selling out like crazy.

Ticket price: $40-$65 per person, depending on how many peeps you bring (the price goes down as you book more people).
