I admit it – I saw the new Death Race in the theater this weekend. While fans of the 70s original may not agree, I thought it was just as fun. Blatant (like, in-your-face BLATANT) eye candy, speed, crashes – and let’s not forget, the splatter.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find any videos up yet that illustrate what I’m talking about, but within the first 5 minutes there’s a pretty decent amount of gushing blood from the first set of victims. They don’t mess around with the car crashes or deaths in this one, that’s for sure.
As for Joan Allen’s completely mis-cast “evil warden” well…I guess I can at least appreciate the kitsch factor there. 😉
